the credibility spine

wtf are we?

a fair question. here's the honest answer — the boring one, and the true one.

the boring answer · the engine

the legal version: thesmallmediacompany s.r.l. is a one-person company based in milan. on paper, we make and sell content — books, podcasts, video — plus ai tools and, now and then, a little consulting.

true. and the least interesting thing about us.

the true answer · the soul

the world doesn't need another media company. it needs a mirror.

the one thing the internet never gave you.

we're a lab built around one stubborn idea: people don't get lost, they get misaligned — and in the age of ai, the most powerful technology ever built can hand you back to yourself instead of replacing you.

so we don't sell answers. we build tools that help you find your questions again. books, voices, intelligence — each one the same spark in a different shape. that's the "media" part. that a single human stands behind it, refusing to let it go soulless — that's the "small" part.

the deeper mirror

look closer.

move — it remembers you.
why one person — and why it stays that way

because the moment this becomes a content factory, it dies.

one person means no committee sanding off the edges, no quarterly plan deciding what you're allowed to try, no data department quietly reselling you. every book, every voice, every word passes through one pair of hands that actually gives a damn: mine.

my name is alessandro facchini, and thesmallmediacompany is, essentially, me.

it's slower. and that's exactly the point.

how i actually create — call it digital artisanship

here's how i think about ai: it's a piano.

you can study it for years and play mozart, or you can bang on the keys and make noise. same instrument, opposite results. i chose to learn the instrument. i spend my days in conversation with the best philosophers, psychologists and minds humanity has produced — except now they live inside the models. claude, gpt, gemini, each with its own voice, like trying different pianos.

but one thing never happens: i never let ai take the place of my judgment, my taste, my responsibility to you. ai makes me faster, sharper, more capable. it doesn't make me less human. that's the pact. that's digital artisanship.

how i decide — the filters

values on a wall are decoration. these are the real ones.

the filters i run every decision through, alone, at the desk, on too much coffee.

01
authenticity over conformity

if it pushes you to be the version of you that others want, i don’t make it. even if it sells.

02
questions over answers

the world belongs to those who can ask. we light questions — we don’t prescribe solutions.

03
expansion over reduction

you’re not broken. you don’t need less of you. you need more: professional and wild, serious and playful. and, not or.

04
connection over isolation

every format we make builds a bridge. the realignment goes faster together.

05
transparency over corporate speak

using ai? i tell you how. got it wrong? i tell you why.

06
magic over ordinary

there’s magic in patterns, in connections, in the instant your spark reignites. we honor it.

07
human-first technology

every tool starts with one question: does this make people more themselves? if the answer is no, it doesn’t get built.

why you can trust me

trust isn't a privacy policy. it's knowing someone on the other side cares.

in practice — we collect only what your journey needs, nothing more: your turning points matter, your browsing history couldn't interest me less. we build on the best platforms in the world (anthropic, openai, google, meta) because their security beats anything i could do alone — and being one person means there's no one here to monetize you. based in italy, gdpr isn't a box to tick: it's the floor. and quality? i throw away a week of work if it's good but not alive.

in a world drowning in ai-generated filler, this isn't a standard. it's a rebellion.

the whole story — if you want it

it started with a machine breaking down, a bent spoon, and a man in a photocopy room who told me the world belongs to those who can ask.

the long version — the magic, the misalignment, the train — is here.

so, wtf are we?

we're where ai-powered publishing meets the human soul. the engine and the realignment.

one message, many forms, one hand. this is the great realignment.

if somewhere along the way you've lost sight of yourself — you're home.
